Discussion groups that allow commercial messages, including contact requests, do a disservice to their members. They say it's ok to use the forum or any group for unsolicited and untargeted messages. That's bad marketing. Especially so when the message is of interest to only a few people
More importantly it's bad networking. We don't allow it. So what do you do?
We invite you to take the next step. Use the group for good networking, not bad. Engage members for suggestions and help in how to better publicize and target your opportunities through LinkedIn. Or, like Jeopardy where you submit your answer in the form of a question, in networking you submit your need in the form of a Professional introduction (see below).
Networking is about relationships and how you can help the other person, not "What's in it for me." It's about sharing, not selling. We invite your Professional introduction. It's no different from sending an effective LinkedIn Introduction or delivering a one minute pitch at a networking event. Be brief, be interesting, give us a reason to contact you and start that relationship.
